Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement Deville
Removal Procedure
- Operate the seat to the
full-rearward position.
- Remove the front sight shield from the seat track.
- Operate the seat to the full-forward position.
- Remove the rear sight shields from the seat track.
- Operate the eight-way seat to the full-up position.
- Remove the adjuster-to-floor pan rear anchor bolts (1).
- Disconnect the rear HVAC (3) duct.
- Tilt the seat forward.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- With the (AM6) seat, remove the rear seat cushion. Refer
to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
.
- Pull the seat rearward. Disengage the front retaining hooks (2).
- Remove the front seat, with the aid from an assistant.
- Remove the left front seat out the left rear door.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat to the
vehicle, with the aid from an assistant.
Engage the front hooks.
- Tilt the seat forward.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the rear
anchor bolts (1) to the seat track assembly (2).
Tighten
Tighten the seat anchor bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
- Install the rear sight shields.
- Connect the rear HVAC (3).
- Move the seat rearward in order to install the front sight shields.
- Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to
Rear Seat Cushion Replacement
.
- Inspect the operation of the seat.
Driver or Passenger Seat Replacement Eldorado
Removal Procedure
- Open the door.
- Remove the lower fastener
to the shoulder belt guide loop.
- Carefully guide the shoulder belt out through the guide loop.
- Operate the seat to the
full-rearward position.
Important: The front sight shield clips break easily.
- Remove the front sight shields from the seat tracks.
- Operate the seat to the full-forward position.
- Remove the adjuster-to-floor pan rear anchor bolts (1).
- Tilt the seat forward.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
- Pull the seat rearward.
- Disengage the front retaining hooks (2).
- Remove the front seat, with the aid from an assistant.
Installation Procedure
- Install the seat to the
vehicle, with the aid from an assistant.

- Tilt the seat rearward.
- Connect the electrical connectors.
- Install the rear sight shields.
- Lower the seat to the floor.

- Reposition the seat.

- Install the shoulder
belt guide loop fastener.
Tighten
Tighten the shoulder belt guide loop fastener to 2 N·m
(18 lb in).
- Inspect the operation of the seat.
- Close the door.
