Carpet Retainer Replacement DeVille

1. Starting from the rear of the retainer, pull up the carpet retainer (1) in order to release the 3 fasteners.



2. Pull the retainer inboard in order to release the fastener at the forward edge of the carpet retainer.
3. Remove the center lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement .
4. Pull out and remove the 2 fasteners at the lock pillar.
5. Pull out and remove 1 fastener from under the rear seatback.
6. Pull upward on the carpet retainer in order to release the fasteners.
7. Remove the slot clip.
8. Remove the seat belt from the carpet retainer through the slot.

1. Insert the seat belt through the slot.
2. Install the carpet retainer clip (2).



3. Press downward on the carpet retainer in order to engage the fasteners. Start pressing the carpet retainer at the front and move rearward.
4. Press outward in order to install 1 fastener under the seatback.
5. Press outward in order to install 2 fasteners to the lock pillar area.
6. Install the center lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement .
7. Install the fasteners that attach the forward edge of the carpet retainer.
8. Press the front carpet retainer (1) into position.

Carpet Retainer Replacement Eldorado

1. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
2. Remove 1 fastener from the rear of the carpet retainer.
3. Pull up the carpet retainer in order to disengage the retainer from the clips.
4. Partially remove the retainer clip for the carpet retainer in order to remove the belt from the carpet retainer.
5. Guide the seat belt through the slit in order to remove the carpet retainer.

1. Guide the seat belt through the slit in the carpet retainer.
2. Secure the retainer clip for the carpet retainer.
3. Position the front of the carpet retainer to the front clip.
4. Position the carpet retainer to the sil plate. Push down on the retainer in order to engage the retainers.
5. Install the fastener that retains the rear of the carpet retainer.
6. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
