Removal Procedure

  1. Open the door.
  2. Remove the body lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement in Interior Trim.
  3. Partially remove the rear carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  4. Separating the rear carpet retainer from the front carpet retainer is not necessary.

  5. Pull the door opening weather-strip (1) from the flange (2).

Installation Procedure

    Important: 1 lite blue assistance dot indicates the right rear door weatherstrip and 2 lite blue assistance dots indicates the left rear door weatherstrip.

    Important: Spray the pinch weld flange with a soap/water solution in order to ease the installation of the weatherstrip.

  1. Position the assistance mark at the upper front corner of the door opening.
  2. Install the weather-strip (1) to the flange (2).
  3. Engage the corners of the weatherstrip to the corners of the flange.
  4. Firmly press the weather-strip (1) until the weather-strip is fully seated.
  5. Important: If a rubber mallet is used, be sure to hit the weatherstrip square to the flange, otherwise, the spreading of the carrier will occur, resulting in poor weatherstrip to flange retention.

  6. Ensure the weatherstrip is engaged at the thick flange areas as well as in the corners.
  7. Install the rear carpet retainer. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement in Interior Trim.
  8. Install the body lock pillar trim. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement in Interior Trim.
  9. Close the door.
