Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the bumper assembly. Refer to Rear Bumper Replacement or Front Bumper Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 372783  Size: SH
  3. Remove the 3 bolts (2) and the nuts (3).

  4. Object Number: 372777  Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolts (1) that retains the energy absorber (2) rear bracket to the body.
  6. Remove the energy absorber (2) from the body.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 372783  Size: SH
  1. Loosely assemble the energy absorber (1) into the body with the 3 bolts (2) and the nuts (3).

  2. Object Number: 372777  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt (1) that retains the energy absorber (2) rear bracket rail.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts and the nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the bumper assembly. Refer to Rear Bumper Replacement or Front Bumper Replacement .
