Use the following procedure in order to replace a weld stud if a weld stud becomes damaged during a repair:

  1. Drill a hole in the same location as the damaged weld stud.
  2. Drive a screw into the drilled hole.
  3. Use the screw in order to retain the clips and the molding in the same manner as the weld studs.
  4. If the surface becomes marred, repair and/or paint the surface in order to provide a smooth surface. Refer to Basecoat/Clearcoat Paint Systems in Paint/Coatings.
