Grille Replacement DeVille
Removal Procedure
- Open the hood (1).
- Remove the secondary latch rod from the latch.
- Remove the secondary latch from the grille (7).
- Remove the bolts (4) that retain the grille support brace (3)
to the hood (1).
- Remove the nuts (5) that retain the grille support brace (3)
to the grille (7).
- Remove the nuts that retain the grille (7) to the hood (1).
- Remove the grille (7).
Installation Procedure
- Install the grille (7).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the nuts
in order to retain the grille to the hood.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts in sequence to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the nuts in order
to retain the grille support brace to the grille.
Tighten
Tighten the nuts in sequence to 6 N·m (53 lb in).
- Install the bolts (4)
in order to retain the grille support brace (3) to the hood (1).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 11 N·m (97 lb in).
- Install the secondary latch lever to the grille (7).
- Install the secondary latch rod to the latch.
- Close the hood (1).

Removal Procedure
- Open the hood (1).
- Remove the secondary latch rod from the latch.
- Remove the secondary latch lever (7) from the grille (6).
- Remove the bolts (4) that retain the grille support brace (3)
to the hood (1).
- Remove the nuts (5) that retain the grille support brace (3)
to the grille (6).
- Remove the nuts (5) that retain the grille (6) to
the hood (1).
- Remove the grille (6).

- Install the grille (6).
