Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).

Does the scan tool communicate with the electronic brake and traction control module (EBTCM)?

1. Use the scan tool in order to enter the ABS/TCS/ICCS Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC).
2. Inspect for the DTC C1241.

Does the scan tool display DTC C1241 as current or history DTC?

Go to Step 3

Use the scan tool in order to inspect for other ABS/TCS/ICCS DTCs.

Does the scan tool display any current or history DTCs?

Go to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List in Antilock Brake System

Go to Step 4

1. Start the engine.
2. Turn the steering wheel to the right.
3. Turn the steering wheel to the left.

Does the steering wheel turn with little effort?

Go to Step 5

Go to Steering Effort Hard in One or Both Directions in Power Steering System

1. Drive the vehicle.
2. While driving the vehicle perform several turns and listen for any unusual sounds.

Does any hissing noise come from the vehicle?
