Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the pressure switch.

  4. Object Number: 323564  Size: MH
  5. Remove the power steering pressure switch (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the power steering pressure switch (3).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the pressure switch to 10 N·m (8 lb ft).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the power steering pressure switch.
  4. Lower the vehicle.
  5. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Draining the Power Steering System .
  6. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  7. Inspect for power steering fluid leaks.
