Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  2. Drain the power steering fluid from the reservoir.
  3. Disconnect the return pipe from the reservoir.
  4. Remove the pressure pipe from the pump.

  5. Object Number: 105222  Size: SH
  6. Remove the pump mounting bolt.
  7. Remove the pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly from the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 323560  Size: SH
  9. Remove the pump and reservoir assembly (2) from the bracket (1).
  10. Remove the pulley (3) from the pump.
  11. Remove the retaining clips that attach the reservoir (2 to the pump.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the retaining clips in order to attach the reservoir (2 to the pump.
  2. Install the pump and reservoir (2) to the bracket (1).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the pump to bracket bolts (4,5).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the pump to bracket bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the pulley (3) to the pump.
  7. Position the pump, reservoir, pulley and bracket assembly to the vehicle.

  8. Object Number: 105222  Size: SH
  9. Install the pump mounting bolt to the engine.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the pump mounting bolt to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

  11. Install the pressure pipe to the pump.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the pressure pipe fitting to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

  13. Install the return hose to the reservoir.
  14. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
  15. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Draining the Power Steering System .
  16. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to .
