For 1990-2009 cars only
  1. Park the vehicle on level ground.
  2. Inspect the tire pressure.
  3. Verify that all of the tires are inflated to the proper pressure.

  4. Inspect the fuel level.
  5. The fuel tank should be full.

  6. Inspect the passenger compartment and the trunk in order to verify that no extra weight is in the passenger compartment or trunk.
  7. The trunk must be empty except for the spare tire and jack. On vehicles equipped with Electronic Level Control (ELC), verify that the Electronic Control Level (ELC) operates properly.

  8. Place the front seat into the rear position.
  9. Bounce the vehicle three times at the front and rear in order to normalize the suspension.

  11. Measure the clearance (2) between the centerline of the bushing bolt and the lowest point on the ball joint housing (3) (excluding the grease fitting).
  12. • The clearance (2) should measure 50 mm (1.97 in) on the Eldorado.
    • The clearance (2) should measure 51 mm (2.01 in) on the Deville
    • The clearance (2) should measure 42 mm (1.65 in) on the Concours.

  13. Measure the clearance (2) between the centerline of the front inner bearing bushing bolt (3) and the centerline of the front outer bushing bolt (this measurement should be taken on the front side of the rear suspension assembly).
  14. • The clearance (2) should measure 29 mm (1.14 in) on the Eldorado.
    • The clearance (2) should measure 37 mm (1.46 in) on the Deville.
    • The clearance (2) should measure 28 mm (1.1 in) on the Concours.

  15. Measure the clearances (1-4) between the underbody and the ground.
  16. • The clearance (1) should measure 715 mm (28.15 in) on the Eldorado.
    • The clearance (2) should measure 220 mm (8.66 in) on the Eldorado.
    • The clearance (3) should measure 214 mm (8.43 in) on the Eldorado.
    • The clearance (4) should measure 709 mm (27.91 in) on the Eldorado.
    • The clearance (1) should measure 707 mm (27.83 in) on the Deville.
    • The clearance (2) should measure 192 mm (7.56 in) on the Deville.
    • The clearance (3) should measure 202 mm (7.95 in) on the Deville.
    • The clearance (4) should measure 686 mm (27 in) on the Deville.
    • The clearance (1) should measure 697 mm (27.44 in) on the Concours.
    • The clearance (2) should measure 182 mm (7.17 in) on the Concours.
    • The clearance (3) should measure 192 mm (7.56 in) on the Concours.
    • The clearance (4) should measure 462 mm (18.19 in) on the Concours.
  17. Verify that all of the above clearances measure within the maximum variation from the specified values.
  18. All measurements are plus or minus 10 mm (0.04 in).

    Maximum variation side-to-side is 12 mm (0.05 in).
