Drive Belt Tensioner Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 522492  Size: SH
  1. Place the drive belt tensioner in position. Be sure to locate the tensioner anchor pin in the cylinder head recess.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt .
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt tensioner bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

Drive Belt Idler Pulley Installation Procedure

  1. Place the drive belt idler pulley and bolt in position.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt idler pulley bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

Generator Installation Procedure

  1. Install the torque strut mounting bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the torque strut mounting bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the torque strut bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Install the generator rear mounting bracket.
  6. Install the generator rear mounting bracket bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the generator rear mounting bracket bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).


    Object Number: 522527  Size: SH
  8. Place the generator in position.
  9. Install the generator bolts finger tight.
  10. Tighten the generator bolts in the following sequence:
  11. Tighten

    1. Tighten the generator front lower bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the generator front upper bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the generator bracket bolts to the engine block to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

Air Conditioning Compressor Installation Procedure

  1. Install the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the air conditioning compressor mounting stud.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the air conditioning compressor mounting stud to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  7. Install the air conditioning compressor by sliding on the front mounting stud.
  8. Install the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket bolt to the engine block finger tight.

  9. Object Number: 522496  Size: SH
  10. Install the air conditioning compressor front mounting bolts and nut finger tight.
  11. Tighten the air conditioning compressor mounting bolts and nut in the following sequence:
  12. Tighten

    1. Tighten the air conditioning compressor front mounting nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the air conditioning compressor front lower mounting bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    3. Tighten the air conditioning compressor front upper mounting bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    4. Tighten the air conditioning compressor rear mounting bracket bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

Power Steering Pump Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71094  Size: SH

    Important: You MUST push the power steering pump as far back toward the rear of the engine as possible before tightening the bolt.

  1. Place the power steering pump in position in the engine valley. Slide the molded wedge into the retaining feature cast into the cylinder block.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the power steering pump bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pump bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
