Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the splash shield at the right front corner of the engine cradle.
  3. Remove the oil filter.
  4. Remove the oil cooler lines at the adapter, if equipped.

  5. Object Number: 62336  Size: SH
  6. Remove the adapter mounting bolts (2) and partially remove the adapter.
  7. Disconnect the oil pressure switch.
  8. Remove the adapter and discard the O-rings.
  9. Remove the oil pressure switch.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-rings. Petrolatum may be used to retain the O-rings in the adapter.
  2. Install the oil pressure switch to the adapter.
  3. Position the adapter near the crankcase and connect the oil pressure switch.

  4. Object Number: 62336  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the oil filter adapter with two bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter adapter bolts to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install the oil cooler lines, if equipped, using new O-rings.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the O-rings to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).

    Important: Fill the oil filter with the engine oil before installing.

  9. Install the oil filter.
  10. Install the splash shield.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Adjust the oil level to the full mark.
