The Variable Effort Steering system has only one response mode. Use a scan tool and the following table in order to recalibrate the Variable Effort Steering system.

Scan Tool Display

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. Input the vehicle information and select Chassis.
    • Delco/Bosch ABS/TCS ICCS (if equipped)
    • Magna Steer

Select Magna Steer.
    • Diagnostics
    • Recalibration

Select Recalibration.

Magna Steer Recalibration Procedure - Be sure Ignition is ON Engine OFF

Press [ENTER] to Start

Press [ENTER].

Is VIN Correct?

Select YES.

Factory Standard Calibration Will Be Used For This VIN.

Press [ENTER] to Start

Press [ENTER].

Magna Steer Recalibration Procedure is complete

Press [EXIT] to Return to Menu.

Exit the scan tool.

Reprogramming is complete.
