Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the PCM from the vehicle. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement/Programming .

  2. Object Number: 12685  Size: SH
  3. Remove the two KS Module cover screws and the KS Module cover.

  4. Object Number: 12684  Size: SH
  5. Grasp the KS Module tabs with your thumb and finger.
  6. Squeeze the tabs together.
  7. Pull the KS Module straight up.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12685  Size: SH
  1. Remove the two KS Module cover screws and remove cover (if not previously removed).

  2. Object Number: 12684  Size: SH
  3. Hold the KS Module with your thumb and finger.
  4. Insert the KS Module straight down into the PCM through the access opening.
  5. Press the KS Module firmly into the PCM connector.

  6. Object Number: 12685  Size: SH

    Important: Ensure there is a good seal between access cover (1) and the PCM (3).

  7. Place the KS Module cover (1) on the PCM (3).
  8. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  9. Install the two cover screws.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the cover screws to 5.1 N·m (45 lb in).

  11. Install the PCM. Refer to Powertrain Control Module Replacement/Programming .
