The scan tool data definitions contain a brief description of all related parameters available on the scan tool relating to seat belts components.

Memory Seat Module (MSM) Definitions

Battery Voltage: The scan tool displays 0-16 volts. The level of battery voltage at the module.

Ignition 3: The scan tool displays 0-16 volts. The voltage measured during seat operation.

Belt Tower Switch: The scan tool displays Idle/Up/Down. When the seat belt tower switch is activated, the scan tool will momentarily display Up or Down.

Belt Tower Output: The scan tool displays Idle/Up/Down. When the seat belt tower switch is activated, the scan tool will momentarily display Idle, Up, or Down.

SIR Definitions

8-Digit GM Part Number: The scan tool displays an 8-digit part number. This number is the GM part number that is stored within the SDM memory.

Driver Seat Belt A/D: The scan tool displays 0 or 12 volts. If driver seat belt is buckled = 12 volts, unbuckled = 0 volts.

Ignition Voltage: The scan tool displays 0-20 volts. The Ignition represents the system voltage measured by the SDM at its ignition feed.
