Intermediate Carpet Replacement DeVille

Removal Procedure

    Caution: In order to avoid personal injury or vehicle damage when you repair or replace the carpet, use the same thickness and material size as the original installation. Always return the carpet to the original location.

    Caution: All floor pan insulator material must meet Federal Vehicle Safety Standards for flammability. Failure to do so could result in personal injury and/or vehicle damage.

  1. Remove the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  3. Remove the body lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement .

  5. Remove the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  6. Remove the floor mats.
  7. Remove the sound insulators from under the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  8. Remove the heater extension duct.
  9. Remove the push in retainers from the rear carpet.
  10. Remove the rear carpet.
  11. Remove the front carpet.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 493024  Size: SH
  1. Position the front carpet then position the rear carpet.
  2. Install the push in retainers.
  3. Make sure the electrical connectors are pulled through the openings in the carpet.
  4. Install the heater extension duct.
  5. Install the sound insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  6. Install the floor mats.
  7. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  8. Install the body lock pillar trim panel. Refer to Body Lock Pillar Trim Replacement .
  9. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  10. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement in Seats.

Intermediate Carpet Replacement Eldorado

Removal Procedure

  4. Remove the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  5. Remove the floor mats.
  6. Remove the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  7. Remove the sound insulators from under the instrument panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  8. For a full console only, remove the heater extension duct.
  9. Remove the rear carpet push in retainers.
  10. Remove the rear carpet.
  11. Remove the front carpet.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the rear floor carpet in place.
  2. Install new push in retainers.
  3. Position the front carpet into place.
  4. Make sure the electrical connectors are pulled through the openings in the carpet.
  5. Install the heater extension duct.
  6. Install the sound insulators. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side or Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
  7. Install the center console. Refer to Console Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  8. Install the floor mats.
  9. Install the carpet retainers. Refer to Carpet Retainer Replacement .
  10. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  11. Install the front seats. Refer to Seat Replacement .
