Did you perform the Defogger System Check?

Go to Defogger System Check

1. Disconnect the rear defogger relay in the rear compartment relay center 2.
2. Measure the resistance from the relay harness terminal C3 to ground.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

1. Disconnect the body control module (PZM).
2. Measure the resistance from the relay harness terminal C3 to ground.

Does the resistance measure within the specified range?

0-5 ohms

Go to Step 7

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Body Control System in Body Control Systems

1. Disconnect the HTD MIR fuse in the rear compartment fuse block.
2. Disconnect the HTD BACKLT fuse in the rear compartment fuse block.
3. Connect a test lamp between the relay terminal C1 and ground.

Did the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

1. Connect the HTD MIR fuse in the rear compartment fuse block.
2. Connect the HTD BACKLT fuse in the rear compartment fuse block.
3. Connect a test lamp between the positive feed bus of the rear defogger and ground.

Did the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Inspect for poor connections/terminal tension at the relay connector. Refer to Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Defogger System Check

Go to Step 10

Test CKT 193 (WHT) for a short to ground. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Defogger System Check

Test CKT 293 (PPL) for a short to B+. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Did you find and correct the condition?

Replace the rear defogger relay.

Did you complete the repair?
