Pressing the fuel door release switch provides an input
signal to the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster sends a Class 2
serial data message to the body control module (PZM). The PZM internally grounds
connector C2 terminal C12, which grounds CKT 93 (WHT)
if the following conditions are present:
• | The transaxle is in the PARK position. |
• | The valet switch is closed. |
Power is supplied through the following components to the now-grounded
CKT 93 (WHT):
• | The coil of the fuel door release relay |
The relay coil energizes and closes the relay contacts.
Power is supplied from the CONVENIENCE fuse through the following components:
• | The now-closed relay contacts |
• | The fuel door release solenoid |
The solenoid energizes and the fuel door latch assembly releases the
fuel door.
