Makes 🢒 Cadillac 🢒 1998 🢒 DeVille 🢒 Steering 🢒 Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt 🢒 Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Coil Assemble - Off Vehicle

Tools Required

    • J 41352 Modular Column Holding Fixture
    • J 23653-SIR Lock Plate Compressor

    Important: The column must be in the 12 o'clock position.

  1. Align the steering column to the 12 o'clock position.

    2. Object Number: 343722 Size: SH
  2. Install the wave washer.

    3. Object Number: 343717 Size: SH
  3. Install the hanging SIR coil assembly onto the race and upper shaft assembly.
  4. Center the SIR coil assembly. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Coil Centering - Off Vehicle .
  5. The new SIR coil assembly will come precentered. Once installed, pull the tab and remove.
  6. If the SIR coil assembly is completely off refer to the upper tilt head component assembly Turn Signal Cancel Cam and Upper Bearing Inner Race - Assemble - Off Vehicle .
  7. Install the wire protector into the support bracket.

    8. Object Number: 343702 Size: SH
  8. Install the retaining ring.

    9. Object Number: 343706 Size: SH
  9. Install the SIR coil assembly connector (1) to the fused jumper assembly connector (2).

    10. Object Number: 343711 Size: SH
  10. Put the wire harness assembly into the wire harness strap (1) using toolJ 41352 .
