Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle and support.
  2. Remove the electrical connector at the crank sensor.

  3. Object Number: 11794  Size: SH
  4. Remove the retaining bolt (1) and crank sensor (2 or 3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Check the crank sensor o-ring for wear or damage and replace as needed.
  2. Lubricate the crank sensor o-ring with clean engine oil.

  3. Object Number: 11794  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the crank sensor (2 or 3) and the retaining bolt (1).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the retaining bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  6. Install the electrical connector at the crank sensor.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Operate engine and inspect crank sensor for engine oil leaks.
