TWO PIECE PARK/LOCK ROD CHANGE NEW ONE PIECE DESIGN-THM200-4R

ONE PIECE PARKING LOCK ROD ASSEMBLY - 1983 THM 200-4R

Beginning in October, 1982, the parking lock rod assembly in 1983 model year THM 200-4R transmissions was changed from a two-piece (Figure 1) to a one-piece assembly (Figure 2).

In servicing the parking rod mechanism on any THM 200-4R, it is important that the correct parts be used. The detent levers and rod assemblies are not interchangeable between the two designs. Refer to the chart below for proper parts usage.
