A compressor cut-out relay is being installed on Cadillac C-Cars that are ordered with optional heavy-duty cooling. This relay disengages the ECC compressor clutch (circuit #204) when activated by the transmission downshift switch (circuit #208). Vehicles with this relay will have an extra wiring loom along the right valve cover. The relay is taped to this loom near the rear of the engine compartment.
All DFI C-cars ordered with heavy-duty cooling built after approximate Broadcast Number 120000 have this relay. The service part number for the relay is 1618951. Refer to the attached circuit diagram for diagnosis.
