For 1990-2009 cars only
- Remove the center support bolts (31).
- Remove the center support assembly (30).
- Remove the center support spacer plate (29) and gaskets (28).
- Remove the oil restrictor (27).
- Inspect the adapter case for ring groove damage and clutch plate lug wear or damage.
- Check all bolt holes for thread damage. Use a Heli-coil© to repair.
- Inspect the cooler line fittings (34, 35) for proper torque.
- Inspect the case to center support face and the pan gasket sealing face for damage.
- Inspect the case for interconnected fluid passages.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten to 30 N·m (23 lb ft).
