Tools Required
    • J 38559 Compressor
    • J 38552 Accumulator Cover Remover
    • J 38584 Adapter
    • J 6125-1B Slide Hammer

    Object Number: 721440 Size: SH

    Notice: J 38559 must be installed correctly or damage to the case may occur.

  1. Install J 38559 onto the adapter case.

    2. Object Number: 174739 Size: SH

    Notice: Do not over compress the spring or damage to the piston may occur.

  2. Compress the accumulator piston spring.
  3. Remove the accumulator piston cover retainer ring (13).
  4. Remove the tools.

    5. Object Number: 174740 Size: SH
  5. Install J 38552 into the center hole of the accumulator piston cover (14).
  6. Remove the accumulator piston cover (14) Using J 6125-1B and J 38552 .
  7. Remove the tools.
  8. Remove the fourth clutch accumulator piston spring (16).
  9. Remove the fourth clutch accumulator piston (18).
  10. Remove the piston pin (17).
  11. Remove the accumulator piston seal (19).
  12. Inspect the accumulator piston for damage.
  13. Inspect the accumulator piston bore for:
    14. • scoring
    • wear
    • damage
