Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Support the transmission using a transmission jack.

  3. Object Number: 159592  Size: SH
  4. Remove the crossmember-to-transmission mount nuts (1).
  5. Remove the crossmember-to-body bolts (2).
  6. Remove the crossmember.

  7. Object Number: 159593  Size: SH
  8. Remove the transmission mount-to-case bolts (1).
  9. Remove the transmission mount.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 159593  Size: SH
  1. Install the transmission mount.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the transmission mount bolts (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the transmission mount bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

  5. Install the crossmember.
  6. Install the crossmember-to-body bolts (2).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the crossmember-to-body bolts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  8. Install the crossmember-to-transmission mount nuts (1).
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the crossmember-to-transmission mount nuts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  10. Remove the transmission jack.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
