Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 219488 Size: SH
  1. Dissconnect the electrical connector from the brake fluid level sensor. and remove the brake master cylinder reservoir cover (1).
  2. Remove the brake fluid from the reservoir and discard in accordance with local regulations.

    3. Object Number: 219497 Size: SH
  3. Remove the reservoir from the master cylinder body.
  4. Remove the grommets from the master cylinder body.
  5. Inspect the reservoir and the grommets for cracks and/or deformation, replace as necessary.
  6. Clean the reservoir with denatured alcohol and dry with unlubricated compressed air.

Installation Procedure
  1. Lubricate the new grommets and reservoir flanges with clean brake fluid.

    2. Object Number: 219554 Size: SH
  2. Install lubricated grommets (1) to the master cylinder body and ensure they are completely seated.

    3. Object Number: 219497 Size: SH
  3. Install the reservoir to the master cylinder body.
  4. Fill the reservoir with brake fluid. Refer to Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.

    5. Object Number: 219488 Size: SH
  5. Install the master cylinder cover (1) and connect the electrical connector to the brake fluid level sensor.
  6. Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .
