Removal Procedure
- Dissconnect the electrical
connector from the brake fluid level sensor. and remove the brake master
cylinder reservoir cover (1).
- Remove the brake fluid from the reservoir and discard in accordance
with local regulations.
- Remove the reservoir from the master
cylinder body.
- Remove the grommets from the master cylinder body.
- Inspect the reservoir and the grommets for cracks and/or deformation,
replace as necessary.
- Clean the reservoir with denatured alcohol and dry with unlubricated
compressed air.
Installation Procedure
- Lubricate the new grommets and reservoir flanges with clean brake
fluid.
- Install lubricated grommets
(1) to the master cylinder body and ensure they are completely seated.
- Install the reservoir to the master cylinder
body.
- Fill the reservoir with brake fluid. Refer to
Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations
in Maintenance and Lubrication.
- Install the master cylinder
cover (1) and connect the electrical connector to the brake fluid level sensor.
- Bleed the hydraulic brake system. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding
