Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 168319  Size: SH
  1. To remove the rear assist handle (2) and the coat hook, lifting the covers (1) that conceal the screws (3) (on at each end).
  2. The rear assist handle (2) and the coat hook are removed as one.

  3. Remove the screws (3) from the rear assist handle and the coat hook (2).
  4. Remove the rear assist handle and the coat hook (2) from the upper rear quarter trim finish panel.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear assist handle and the coat hook (2) to the upper rear quarter trim finish panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the screws (3) to the rear assist handle and to the coat hook (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the rear assist handle and the coat hook screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  5. Close the rear assist handle and the coat hook covers (1) that conceal screws (3) (one at each end).
