Circuit Description

An internal failure within the driver seat adjuster memory module will set DTC 50 or 55.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

    • The high current battery positive voltage supply circuit to the memory seat module is open or unable to provide sufficent current flow to operate the memory seat module output devices.
    • Driver seat adjuster memory module hardware failure (EEPROM, RAM, or ROM are defective).

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The driver seat adjuster memory module will become disabled.

Diagnostic Aids

Replace the driver seat adjuster memory module.

Test the high current battery positive voltage supply circuit to the memory seat module for an open or high resistance. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 5

Inspect for poor connections at the memory seat module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace memory seat module. Refer to Memory Seat Control Module Replacement and Memory Seat Control Module Programming .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 5

  1. Use the scan tool in order to clear the DTCs.
  2. Operate the system within the Conditions for Setting the DTC as specified in the supporting text.

Does the DTC reset?

Go to Step 2

System OK
