The memory seat module monitors the resistance through the seat adjuster switch. Switch inputs to the memory seat module are determined by continuity through a combination of seat adjuster switch circuits. Seat adjuster switch circuits are shared among individual switches, this limits the ability of the memory seat module to interpret simultaneous switch inputs.
A DTC 21 will set when the memory seat module is unable to determine which seat switches are active because of continuity through multiple switch circuits.
DTC 21 will set and the power seat functions will be disabled.
DTC 21 will clear when the fault is no longer present.
• | Inspect the seat adjuster switch operation or for any type of physical damage. |
• | Inspect the seat adjuster switch harness for damage. |
• | Inspect the seat adjuster switch connector to the memory seat module for damage. |
