Schematic Reference: Power Seats Schematics

DEFINITION: One or more of the driver seat (without memory), or passenger seat adjuster motors are inoperative.

Did you review the Power Seats System Description and Operation perform the necessary inspections?

Are all of the seat adjuster motors inoperative?

Go to Step  3

  1. Disconnect the seat adjuster switch connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the battery positive voltage supply circuit terminal to ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step  4

Connect a test lamp from the battery positive voltage supply circuit terminal to the ground circuit terminal.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step  5

  1. Disconnect the adjuster motor connector.
  2. Connect a test lamp across the adjuster motor supply circuit terminals.
  3. Press the seat adjuster switch in both directions.

Does the test lamp illuminate when the switch is pressed in both directions?

Inspect and repair any damage to the seat adjuster switch pigtail harness and connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect and repair any damage to the adjuster motor pigtail harness and connector. Refer to Wiring Repairs and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Repair the open or high resistance in the battery positive voltage supply circuit to the seat adjuster switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Repair the open or high resistance in the seat adjuster switch ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the seat adjuster switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement .

Go to Step  12

Replace the seat adjuster motor. Refer to Power Seat Adjuster Mechanism Replacement or Recliner Motor Replacement - Front Power .

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step  12

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
