Power Window System Controls

Each window motor contains a built-in programmable module to program the following features:

    • End stops.
    • Application of the pinch guard feature, when necessary.
    • Elimination of the power window operation during Battery Saver Feature, when any door is opened.

Power Window System Operation

Fuse #1 supplies B+ to the driver door switch, and the driver and front passenger window motors. Fuse #7 supplies B+ to the LR and RR window motors. Ground is supplied to the driver door switch by G200. Ground for the driver door switch enables the Battery Saver Feature. When any door is opened the corresponding door jamb switch will send a ground to the driver door switch. Upon receiving the ground signal the driver door switch will disable all window motors by removing voltage from the express circuit of the motors.

The driver door and front passenger door switches are located in the doors. The driver door switch can operate all the windows and includes a rear window lockout switch. In addition, switches are located in the rear doors to operate the rear windows. The rear window switches are operational only when the rear window lockout switch is in the UNLOCK position. All the window switches send an up or down signal to a motor to operate that particular window up or down.
