Did you review the Power Windows Description and Operation?

Go to Step 2

Go to Symptoms - Doors

Verify that the all power windows inoperative fault is present.

Do the power windows operate normally?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the LF door switch.
  3. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  4. Probe the battery positive voltage circuit of the LF door switch with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 9

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the LF window regulator motor.
  3. Connect the LF door switch.
  4. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  5. Probe the power window switch express signal circuit of the LF window regulator motor with a test lamp that is connected to good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 5

  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Disconnect the LF door switch.
  3. Connect the LF window regulator motor.
  4. Turn on the ignition, with the engine off.
  5. Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the LF door switch and the ground circuit of the LF door switch.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Test the power window switch express signal circuit of the LF door switch for a short to voltage, a short to ground or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Test the ground circuit of the LF door switch for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the LH door switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in the battery positive voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the LH door switch. Refer to Power Accessory Switch Panel Replacement .

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
