Removal Procedure
- Open the rear compartment
lid.
- Remove the rear fascia upper screw covers.
- Remove the rear fascia upper retaining screws from the rear fascia.
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the screws from
the rear fascia inner edge of the quarter panel.
- Remove the screws from the rear fascia lower corner of the quarter
panel.
- Remove the center pins
on each of the four retaining clips to release the retaining clips from the
lower center of the rear fascia.
- Perform the following steps to remove the rear fascia:
8.1. | Put down a protective cover to prevent damage to the rear fascia. |
8.2. | Pull both corners of the rear fascia away from the quarter panel
and the retainers with the aid of a helper. |
8.3. | Pull the rear fascia from the center of the rear impact bar to
remove the rear fascia. |
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear fascia.
- Remove the electrical harness from the rear fascia.
- Remove the rear license plate lamp socket and bulb. Refer to
Rear License Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
Installation Procedure
- Install the rear license
plate lamp socket and bulb. Refer to
Rear License Lamp Replacement
in Lighting Systems.
- Install the electrical harness to the rear fascia.
- Install the electrical connector to the rear fascia.
- Perform the following steps to install the rear fascia:
4.1. | Align the rear fascia to the center of the rear impact bar. |
4.2. | Fit both corners of the rear fascia to the quarter panel and to
the retainers with the aid of a helper to install the rear fascia. |
- Install the four retaining clips to the lower center of the rear
fascia.
- Install the center pins into the retaining clips to retain the
lower center of the rear fascia.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
to the rear fascia lower corner of the quarter panel.
Tighten
Tighten the rear fascia-to-body screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Install the screws to the rear fascia inner edge of the quarter
panel.
Tighten
Tighten the rear fascia lower screws to 3 N·m (27 lb in).
- Lower the vehicle.
- Install the retaining
screws to the rear fascia upper center.
Tighten
Tighten the rear fascia upper center retaining screws to 3 N·m
(27 lb in).
- Install the upper center screw covers to the rear fascia .
- Close the rear compartment lid.
