Service Bay Tests are included on the scan tool for the
secondary air injection (AIR) and the evaporative emission (EVAP) systems.
These tests may be used to aid in the diagnosis of the systems or to set
the I/M System status monitors to YES. Activating the Service Bay Test causes
the ECM to run the on-board diagnostics for each system in a service bay
environment without the need for a drive cycle.
Important: Ensure the vehicle meets the following requirements before performing
either of the Service Bay Tests. Failure to meet the necessary requirements
may produce inaccurate test results or a test which will not run completely.
The Service Bay Tests can be performed when the vehicle meets the following
conditions:
• | The Diagnostic System Check-Engine Controls has been completed. |
• | There are not any DTCs set. |
• | The battery voltage is 11-16 volts. |
• | The fuel level is 15-85 percent for the EVAP Service
Bay Test. |
• | The fuel system is in Closed Loop fuel control for the AIR Service
Bay Test. |
Use the scan tool to perform the Service Bay Test. Follow the instructions
for the Service Bay Test as displayed on the scan tool.
