Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the horn assembly.

  3. Object Number: 159498  Size: SH
  4. Remove the horn bracket bolt (1).
  5. Remove the horn assembly from the vehicle.
  6. Remove the horn bolt and horn from the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the horn to the bracket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the horn bolt.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the horn bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  5. Align the horn assembly to the frame.
  6. Install the horn bracket bolt (1).
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the horn bracket bolt (1) to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  8. Connect the electrical connectors to the horn assembly.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
