Did you perform the IPC Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Instrument Cluster

1. Disconnect Engine Control Module (ECM) connector C2.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Is the FUEL CAP lamp illuminated?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

Test the fuel cap missing control circuit for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 5

Important: Program the replacement ECM.

Replace the ECM. Refer to Engine Control Module Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Important: Program the replacement IPC.

Replace the IPC. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
