Removal Procedure

  1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  2. Remove the 4 splash shield bolts.
  3. Remove the splash shield.
  4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the oil pressure sensor/switch.
  5. Important: Use a catch basin to catch escaping oil.

  6. Remove the oil pressure sensor/switch.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Replacement components must be the correct part number for the application. Components requiring the use of the thread locking compound, lubricants, corrosion inhibitors, or sealants are identified in the service procedure. Some replacement components may come with these coatings already applied. Do not use these coatings on components unless specified. These coatings can affect the final torque, which may affect the operation of the component. Use the correct torque specification when installing components in order to avoid damage.

  1. Install the oil pressure sensor/switch.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the oil pressure sensor/switch to 40 N·m (30 lb ft ).

  3. Connect the electrical connector to the oil pressure sensor/switch.
  4. Install the splash shield.
  5. Install the 4 splash shield bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the splash shield screws until fully seated and not stripped.

  7. Do not strip the splash shield bolts.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
