Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the hood.
  2. Drain the washer solvent from the washer solvent container.
  3. Remove the air snorkel screw and reposition the snorkel for clearance of washer solvent container removal.
  4. Remove the washer solvent container filler neck.
  5. Remove the washer pump hose from the washer pump.
  6. Disconnect the washer pump wiring electrical connector.
  7. Disconnect the washer solvent container level sensor wiring electrical connector.
  8. Remove the washer solvent container screws.
  9. Remove the washer solvent container from the vehicle.
  10. If replacing the washer solvent container transfer the following components:
  11. • Remove the washer pump.
    • Remove the washer solvent container level sensor.

Installation Procedure

  1. If the washer solvent container was replaced, install the following components:
  2. • Install the washer pump.
    • Install the washer solvent container level sensor.
  3. Position the washer solvent container to the vehicle.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the washer solvent container screws.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the washer solvent container screws to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Connect the washer solvent level sensor wiring electrical connector.
  8. Connect the washer pump wiring electrical connector.
  9. Install the washer pump hose to the washer pump.
  10. Install the washer solvent container filler neck.
  11. Reposition the air snorkel and install the air snorkel screw.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the air snorkel screw to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  13. Fill the washer solvent container with washer solvent.
  14. Close the hood.
