Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  3. Verify that the fog lamps are on at all times.

Are the fog lamps OFF?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Disconnect the multifunction relay K134
  3. Probe the fog lamp switch signal circuit (FP28) of the fog lamp relay connector with a test lamp that is connected to B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Test the fog lamp switch signal circuit (FP28) for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 6

Test the fog lamp supply voltage circuit (FP50) for a short to B+. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Replace the fog lamp switch. Refer to Headlamp Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

Replace the multifunction relay K134.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 8

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the fog lamps are operating properly.

Are the fog lamps operating properly?

System OK
