Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  2. Verify that the rear license lamps are inoperative.

Are the license lamps operative properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the headlamp switch to the PARK position.
  2. Determine if the LH, RH or both rear license lamps are inoperative.

Is only one license lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 6

Test for an open, high resistance, or a short to ground in the license lamp supply voltage circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 5

Test for an open or a high resistance in the license lamp ground circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Test for an open or a high resistance in the supply voltage circuit and the ground circuit of the inoperative lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative rear license lamp. Refer to Rear License Lamp Replacement .

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 7

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were disconnected.
  2. Verify that the rear license lamps operate properly.

Do the rear license lamps operate properly?

System OK
