Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Determine if the LH, RH or both sunshade illuminated mirror lamps are inoperative.

Are both the LH and RH sunshade illuminated mirror lamps inoperative?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the LH sunshade illuminated mirror lamp connector.
  2. Turn on the ignition.
  3. Probe the supply voltage circuit of the LH sunshade illuminated mirror lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 9

Go to Step 10

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Remove the inoperative sunshade illuminate mirror lamp bulb.
  3. Probe the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror lamp and the ground circuit of the with a test lamp.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 12

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Probe the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror lamp with a test lamp that is connected to a good ground.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Probe the ground circuit of the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror lamp with a test lamp that is connected to B+.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 11

Repair the open or high resistance in the supply voltage circuit of the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 13

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit of the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror lamp. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Repair the open or high resistance in the ground circuit that feeds both the RH and LH sunshade illuminated mirror lamps. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open or high resistance in the supply voltage circuit that feeds both the RH and LH sunshade illuminated mirror lamps. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror. Refer to Vanity Mirror Lamp Replacement .

Replace the inoperative sunshade illuminated mirror bulb.

  1. Connect all connectors and components that were previously disconnected.
  2. Verify that the LH and RH sunshade illuminated mirror lamps operate properly.

Do the LH and RH sunshade illuminated mirror lamps operate properly?

System OK
