Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  2. Remove the ashtray. Refer to Ashtray Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.

  3. Object Number: 156085  Size: SH
  4. Remove the HVAC control module screws.
  5. Disconnect the HVAC control module electrical connectors.

  6. Object Number: 156086  Size: SH
  7. Remove the HVAC control module.
  8. Continue with the following procedures if servicing the:

    • HVAC control indicator bulbs.
    • HVAC control bracket.
    • Printed Circuit Board (PCB).

  9. Remove the HVAC control module from the bracket:
  10. 6.1. Depress the tabs (1) on the side of the control face to release the HVAC control module from the bracket.
    6.2. Slide the HVAC control module out of the bracket.

  11. Using a flat-bladed tool, turn the HVAC control indicator bulbs counterclockwise to remove.
  12. Remove the PCB from the HVAC control module.
  13. Remove the ribbon from the HVAC control module.

Installation Procedure

  1. If serviced install the following:
  2. • PCB to the HVAC control module.
    • Ribbon to the HVAC control module.

    • HVAC control indicator bulbs.

  3. Perform the following steps to install the HVAC control module to the bracket:
  4. 2.1. Slide the PCB into the slot.
    2.2. Snap the HVAC control face into the bracket.

  5. Install the HVAC control module.
  6. Connect the HVAC control module electrical connectors.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the HVAC control module screws.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.9 N·m (17 lb in).

  10. Install the ashtray. Refer to Ashtray Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  11. Install the radio. Refer to Radio Replacement in Entertainment.
  12. Program the HVAC control with a scan tool, by selecting the programming procedure from the Air Conditioning Special Functions menu and follow the instructions on the screen.
