DTC 55 is an indication of an internal inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) malfunction. The internal malfunction is detected within the SDM. No external circuits are involved.
Ignition 1 voltage is within the normal operating voltage range.
The SDM detects either a write error malfunction or a checksum memory malfunction.
The SDM turns the AIR BAG indicator ON.
DTC 55 is a latched DTC. You cannot clear a latched DTC. Replace the SDM after following the instructions in the diagnostic table.
