Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the IP support bracket bolts.
  3. Remove the IP support bracket.

  4. Object Number: 153302  Size: MH
  5. Disconnect the mode actuator electrical connector (1).
  6. Important: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated to access the screws for the following step.

  7. Remove the mode actuator screws.
  8. Disconnect the mode actuator from the linkage.
  9. Remove the mode actuator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 153302  Size: MH
  1. Install the mode actuator (1).
  2. Connect the mode actuator to the linkage.
  3. Important: The actuator linkage may need to be rotated to access the screw holes for the following step.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the mode actuator screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).

  6. Connect the mode actuator electrical connector.
  7. Install the IP support bracket.
  8. Install the IP support bracket bolts.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  10. Install the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  11. Recalibrate the actuators. Refer to Re-Calibrating Actuators After Power Loss .
