J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.



2. Disconnect the A/C high pressure switch electrical connection.

Important: Counterhold the discharge hose using a wrench.

3. Remove the A/C high pressure switch from the discharge hose.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Important: Counterhold the compressor discharge hose using a wrench.




1. Install the A/C high pressure switch:

•	Use new O-rings.

•	Lubricate the new O-rings using mineral oil, 525 viscosity.

Tighten
Tighten the switch to 7 N·m (62 lb in).

2. Connect the A/C high pressure switch electrical connector.
3. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
4. Lower the vehicle.
