Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unplug the blower motor before removal. Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal injury.

  1. Remove the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Remove the defogger outlet vent duct.

  3. Object Number: 782115  Size: SH
  4. Remove the SIR mounting bracket bolts.
  5. Remove the SIR mounting bracket.

  6. Object Number: 153293  Size: SH
  7. Remove the blower motor housing screws.
  8. Remove the blower motor housing.

  9. Object Number: 153294  Size: SH
  10. Remove the blower motor screws.
  11. Remove the blower motor from the blower motor housing.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 153294  Size: SH
  1. Install the blower motor to the blower motor housing.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the blower motor screws.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  5. Install the blower motor housing.
  6. Install the blower motor housing screws.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  8. Install the defogger outlet duct.

  9. Object Number: 782115  Size: SH
  10. Install the SIR mounting bracket.
  11. Install the SIR mounting bracket bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).

  13. Install the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
