Removal Procedure
- Remove the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
- Remove the defogger outlet vent duct.
- Remove the SIR mounting bracket bolts.
- Remove the SIR mounting bracket.
- Remove the blower motor housing screws.
- Remove the blower motor housing.
- Remove the blower motor screws.
- Remove the blower motor from the blower motor housing.
Caution: Unplug the blower motor before removal. Blower motor case contact with any ground may start the fan and cause personal injury.
Installation Procedure
- Install the blower motor to the blower motor housing.
- Install the blower motor screws.
- Install the blower motor housing.
- Install the blower motor housing screws.
- Install the defogger outlet duct.
- Install the SIR mounting bracket.
- Install the SIR mounting bracket bolts.
- Install the IP carrier. Refer to Instrument Panel Carrier Replacement Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 4 N·m (35 lb in).
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 22 N·m (16 lb ft).
