J 39400-A Electronic Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the TXV from the evaporator. Refer to Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement .
  3. Remove the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  4. Remove the brake pedal with the bracket. Refer to Brake Pedal Bracket Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.

  5. Object Number: 153181  Size: SH
  6. Remove the evaporator:
  7. • Plug the fittings to prevent refrigerant oil from dripping on the interior trim.
    • Carefully pull the evaporator core from the HVAC module.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Carefully install the evaporator core. Avoid bending the cooling fins.

  1. Install the evaporator core (2) into the HVAC module (1).
  2. Install the brake pedal with the bracket. Refer to Brake Pedal Bracket Replacement in Hydraulic Brakes.
  3. Install the steering column. Refer to Steering Column Replacement in Steering Wheel and Column.
  4. Install the TXV. Refer to Thermal Expansion Valve Replacement .
  5. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  6. Leak test the fittings of the component using J 39400-A .
