Removal Procedure

  1. Place the drain pan under the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 142011  Size: SH
  3. Remove the power steering pressure line connection at the steering gear (1).
  4. Remove the power steering pressure hose connection at the power steering pump (2).
  5. Remove the power steering pressure hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 142011  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the power steering pressure hose to the steering gear (1).
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the power steering pressure hose connection at the power steering gear to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  3. Install the power steering pressure hose (2) with a new O-ring to the power steering pump.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the gear inlet hose conncetion at the power steering pump to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
