Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front transmission oil pan. Refer to Changing Fluid and Oil Filter .

  2. Object Number: 159640  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the solenoid valves (1, 2).
  4. Remove the solenoid valve retainer bolts and the retainer.

  5. Object Number: 159645  Size: SH
  6. Remove the force motor solenoid valve (3).
  7. Remove the torque converter clutch solenoid valve (4).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 159645  Size: SH
  1. Install the torque converter clutch solenoid valve (4).
  2. Install the force motor solenoid valve (3).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the solenoid valve retainer and the bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the solenoid valve retainer bolts to 10 N·m (87 lb in).

  6. Connect the electrical connectors to the solenoid valves (1, 2).
  7. Install the front transmission oil pan. Refer to Changing Fluid and Oil Filter .
