Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 262251 Size: SH
  1. Turn the Ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Remove BPMV and EBCM (1) as an assembly from the BPMV bracket (7). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .
  3. Remove the 3 BPMV bracket bolts (3, 4, 8) attaching the BPMV bracket (7) to the frame side member.
  4. Remove the BPMV bracket (7) from the vehicle. Transfer the heat shield if replacing the bracket.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the BPMV bracket (7) to the frame side member.

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the 3 BPMV bracket bolts (3, 4, 8).

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the three BPMV bracket bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the BPMV and EBCM (1) as an assembly to the BPMV bracket (7). Refer to Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement .
  4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position, engine off.
  5. Perform the Diagnostic System Check - ABS .
